NURSING SUPERVISOR

Description: Part Time, Evening and 7-3 on the Weekends. The Nursing Supervisor is responsible and accountable for the supervision, direction and support of the nursing staff throughout the hospital for their assigned shift in order to provide and deliver quality nursing and patient care.  Accepts the responsibility for the delivery of patient care through the process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation as appropriate to ages of the patients served, based on the areas of clinical practice.  Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.  Maintains confidentiality of all hospital/staff information.  Strives to incorporate the philosophy and mission of Mount St. Mary's Hospital and to incorporate the hospital's goal of quality care in a personal manner with total regard for individual human dignity.

Qualifications: Registered Professional Nurse must possess an Associates Degree from a two (2) year college or three (3) year Diploma RN.  Six (6) months to one (1) year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess Basic Life Support Certification credentials. NYS Current License as a Registered Nurse.  Bachelor's Degree Preferred, with 2 years supervisory experience.  Must have excellent human relations and oral/written communication skills.  Must demonstrate leadership and problem solving skills.  Proven managerial skills.
