Our Lady of Peace Earns Excellent Results in State Survey

The New York State Department of Health recently conducted its annual survey of activities and care at the Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence with the facility receiving what is being described as an "excellent" report.

Interim Administrator Michael McRae said the survey, conducted over a period of several days, measured the nursing care residence in more than 7,000 areas. He said the Department of Health examiners found only two minor problems.

"Typically, a nursing home of our size would consider it a very good report if 6 or 7 items were cited," Mr. McRae said. "It is a tribute to the quality of care provided our staff and their training that we only received two minor citations."

Located at 5285 Lewiston Road on the Mount St. Mary's Hospital campus in the Town of Lewiston, Our Lady of Peace is a 250-bed nursing care residence that offers long term skilled nursing, a specially designed and secure unit for residents with Alzheimer's and Dementia, and a broad range of short-term, in-house rehabilitation services.

The facility has more than 400 employees.
